OLED care: Use moderate brightness and short viewing times. Do not leave a static test pattern on an OLED or plasma display for an extended period.

How this test works

Use low gray and muted color fields to reveal shapes that remain visible after content changes.

  1. Prepare the display using the checklist below.
  2. Select Start test and allow fullscreen mode if your browser asks.
  3. Use the arrow keys, on-screen controls, or click the pattern to move through the test.
  4. Exit the runner and save a local observation if useful.

Before you begin

  • Lower display brightness
  • Hide static desktop elements
  • Use each pattern only briefly

What to look for

  • Persistent logos or interface outlines
  • Uneven gray or color fields
  • Shapes that remain in the same location
Important: Temporary image retention can resemble burn-in. This visual test cannot determine permanence or panel age.
