How this test works
Use standard sRGB CSS colors as a visual reference for clipping, neutrality, and tonal separation.
- Prepare the display using the checklist below.
- Select Start test and allow fullscreen mode if your browser asks.
- Use the arrow keys, on-screen controls, or click the pattern to move through the test.
- Exit the runner and save a local observation if useful.
Before you begin
- Select an sRGB or standard display mode
- Disable vivid and wide-gamut enhancement
- Enable the correct ICC profile
What to look for
- Distinct saturation steps
- Neutral gray without a strong tint
- Smooth gradients without abrupt clipping
Important: This cannot measure sRGB coverage or accuracy. Objective gamut results require a calibrated colorimeter or spectrophotometer.
Frequently asked questions
Can this measure sRGB coverage?
No. It provides visual reference patterns but cannot measure the display's physical color output.
Why does sRGB mode look less vivid?
Wide-gamut displays can oversaturate unmanaged sRGB content. A correct sRGB mode limits output to the intended gamut.
Does the browser use my ICC profile?
Modern browsers usually participate in system color management, but behavior varies by platform and configuration.
